It's A....

Boy!!!

The Gender Reveal was a blast and such a success! We were in complete shock. Lee and I both were 99% sure that we were having a GIRL. I just thought it was girl, thought I had that "mother's intuition" (apparently not). With my morning sickness and other "old wives tales", I thought for sure girl. Lee had been saying the majority of the pregnancy that it was a boy, until the sonogram. He thought he could tell from the sonogram that it was for sure a girl. He was so confident in his assessment. This then made me lean even more on the girl side.

So when the balloons popped out... I cried. Of course tears of joy... we were wanting a boy first. I'm still in shock. I was so confident that pink balloons were going to pop out, but blue came instead! So excited! We are so thrilled to start thinking of names and nursery ideas! I just don't have many words... I'm speechless. So excited!

Boy or Girl?!?!

Such an exciting week!

This past Sunday I felt the first "kick"! I was sitting in church and felt some movement and put my hand down on my belly at just the right moment! It was very surreal. I'm feeling more and more movements each day. So fun and yet so weird to think about another human life growing inside of you. Such a miracle! It's making this all seem so real.

Another exciting part of this week... we get to find out the gender!! I'm beyond excited! Somehow we are going to resist finding out at the doctors office and have them seal the results in an envelope. We will then reveal the results with our families! I am going to have to hand off of the envelope very quickly so that I am not tempted to rip it open and find out... this will be hard. Lee had decided he is just going to pay the doctor to find out. Hopefully that doesn't happen so that the surprise will be so special!

I can't believe we will find out boy or girl this week!! EEEK... We can finally start talking about names and nursery ideas and register.... oh the joy! I'm ready to meet this bundle of joy.

17 Weeks

Almost to the halfway point...

The doctor says I should start feeling some movements in the next couple of weeks. On Tuesday my stomach was twitching a lot, (like the feeling when your eye twitches) which some people say that is the baby moving around. It was happening an awful lot all day Tuesday, so I think it may have just been a coincidence.

Not much to report this week...

Here's to 2013

Goodbye 2012. You have been more than a blessing to us. We got to enjoy one of the best years yet. Mexico with the family in January, Disney World with the family in May, Paris/Venice/Florence/Rome in August, Branson for Thanksgiving with the family.... and the best part of 2012... finding out we are expecting! I couldn't have asked for a more blessed year. Thank you Lord for allowing us to enjoy your creation and blessings.

I can't wait for 2013! Ready to experience many firsts. The first time I feel my baby kick, finding out the gender of our little bundle of joy, seeing my baby's face, becoming a parent.... let the adventure begin!

Slowly showing...

The "showing" process is slow. Sometimes I don't think Lee thinks its real until I have a big 'ol belly. But slowly but surely, its starting to show itself.

I have several questions flooding my mind.
(For the mommies): Did you hire a doula? Any recommendations for the DFW area? How did you find your doula? When do you hire one? Is it too early now, or am I already behind? When do I need to order/buy furniture? Set up the nursery? Register?

I'm also getting very anxious to find out the baby's gender. It's killing me. We went by a garage sale that had a TON of baby clothes, most unused with the tags still on them. So we searched through them all to find gender neutral clothes, but these days it seem near impossible to find those. We went home with quite a few, but I would say we leaned more on the boy side of clothes. Our thoughts were that Lee had 2 cousins who just had baby boys that we could pass the clothes onto if we end up having a girl. Although some of the clothes like camo and such Lee informed me would still be put on our girl, if we have one.

I'm pretty sick to my stomach because we took our 13 and 14 week pictures and Christmas morning pictures and then realized that our memory card was not in the camera. =( so we now don't have those pictures. So we have to skip ahead to week 15.

And somewhere within week 13 and 14...

Great Expectations

Its Facebook Official... We're expecting our first child this coming June! We couldn't be more excited! I purchased our Christmas Ornament for this year yesterday, and I'm kinda in love with it. =)

My husband is requesting that I finally update our blog. Its been awhile, but I've been dealing with a lot of Morning Sickness (no bueno) so my attention has been elsewhere. When I'm not sick or napping, I have to focus on cleaning our messy house that has lost most of my attention. So my extras such as crafting, blogging, etc have gone gotten abandoned.

Where it all began:
It was Friday, October 12th. Earlier in the week, I had taken an early pregnancy test which came back negative. I was absolutely sure we were not pregnant. Lee kept assuring me we were! (how he knew, you got me) I told him that I thought I knew my body a little better than he did, and that I was sure I was going to be receiving my monthly visit from mother nature any day now. However, when she still hadn't shown up a few days late, we decided to try another test. I went to the dollar store, because I wasn't about to use my expensive test. Because of course, this was just to prove to Lee that I was in fact not pregnant. I didn't even sit and watch with anticipation, because I was confident. However, when I came back to the test later, there in fact was an extra pink line.... what?!?! no way?!?! That was even Lee's exact response. So then, we used the expensive digital test to confirm, I mean the dollar store could have just been misleading... nope. It was confirmed again! We couldn't believe it. I was in shock and excitment all at once. Sometimes I still don't believe it. It's so surreal.

The Bet:
Then, came my unfortunate mistake. =/ A few months earlier, Lee and I came across the most awesome show ever... Duck Dynasty. Words cannot express the envy Lee had for their beards, and he desperately wanted to grow one for himself. So I made the bet.... (shaking my head) Back then, Lee was still not sure if he was ready for kids, I on the other hand have been begging him for a year to have kids. Apparently, I had an out of body experience and said, "Ok, when you get me pregnant, then you can grow out your beard." What was I thinking? Of course, he remembered, and I really think that was his top motivation, ha! So if you haven't seen Lee in a while.... he has a beard... And we are tracking its growth along with the baby's. (shaking my head)

Disgusted

Yesterday evening started out with much excitement. We were given awesome tickets for the Mavs game. Who wouldn't be excited! I don't even feel like I know this Mavs team, especially with no Dirk or Marion playing right now. But it was so much fun, I'm starting to like this new Mavs team.

Anyway, back to my story. I started out the night with Starbucks, yum. I probably haven't had Starbucks in about a month. (trying to cut back) Then it was off to the game. We even had a gold parking pass! Got to park in the parking garage of the Airline's Center. Had platinum access, so got some good food before finding our seats. And our seats were awesome. 3rd row from the bottom, center court. What could go wrong? While enjoying the 3rd quarter, out of no where we feel something....

Oh my! What was that? Hoping it was just somebody's drink that got a little excited and spilled.... no luck...

Next we hear all the people behind saying, "ugh, eww, gross!"

So we look back... to find the horror... it was a lady trying to get out of the row while... puking!!

Ugh!!!! It was in my hair... it was on my jeans... it was ALL over Lee's back...

I was utterly disgusted! We immediately ran up to the bathrooms. I tried to get it out my hair and jeans. Lee found an usher and got us clean shirts. They then tried to find us new seats, but we were put in the corner, horribly seats. We left very soon after. I couldn't wait to get home and shower. Even after showering, I still felt it was all over me. Ugh..

Looking back, it's funny... but in the moment, so gross!
